Our History

Furniture by Design is a wholly Australian business making sofas and quality timber furniture for the commercial market from our 5000sqm factory in Sydney. We believe that the design and manufacture of our high-quality furniture is the result of dedication to quality, design integrity, decades of experience, craftsmanship and an unfaltering design to serve our customers.

Our commercial range is available to commercial builders, architects, designers, project managers and business customers on a project/contract basis.

Our Process

Due to investments in high tech manufacturing machinery such as Pathfinder fabric cutter, 2 CNC machines, automated docking saw, has seen significant reductions in waste going to land fill. All waste is recycled through accredited recycling partners. Operational efficiency due to investment in latest machinery has resulted in improving lead times and enabling us to create higher quality of products and services for our customers. We employ highly skilled, committed and motivated people, with a passion for furniture, and an ability to interpret and satisfy our customers’ needs.

We source much of our timber from Australian sustainable estates that are controlled with felling licenses, and are given PEFC/FSC certification.  We have achieved Living Institute Future Declare Label certification for the majority of our products.
