Darling at the Star

Furniture by Design worked collaboratively with the design team to establish two prototype suites the first one on location in the Sydney factory for initial design collaboration and decision making, the second on-site The Star’s stakeholder design approval.

“Local manufacture was a key part of our decision-making process. Prototyping in Furniture by Design factory was extremely helpful because we couldn’t go overseas to check on the design process. Cost was very comparative, to international procurement and it was an easy decision to use Furniture by Design locally” says Ryu Ogino, Design Manager at The Star.

The 171 rooms and suites, are spacious cocoons with harbor and city vistas and feature a quiet mood far away from the excitement below along with over 1400 Furniture by Design products including the  Casi Chair, Lucy Lounge Chair, custom marble disc base tables, custom designed leather, round and bed-end benches jelly bean shaped custom lounges and hundreds and thousands of cushions and bolsters.
